Let's Be Honest

   I'm back for the moment just to give a little update on what's been happening. I finally found out that instead of narcolepsy I have hypersomnia. Unknown cause and no real cure...hmmm The good news is that I've been prescribed something to keep me awake, so no more 16hr sleep sessions. Yay! I also started going to the gym which is a HUGE accomplishment AND I even managed to get a personal trainer.
   Finally getting my shit together I hope. Unfortunately everything else has kinda suffered. Ebay listings have gone by the wayside and my house needs a serious cleaning!!! I'm also sick to death of this crappy blog. My true love is scouring the ends of the Earth for bargains on fabulous clothes and this blog doesn't seem to reflect this at all! LET'S BE HONEST...... I love reading about certain bloggers fabulous trips to far away places where they rub elbows with the rich, wear the seasons latest couture and all while living out of hotels and eating scrumptious food (and never gaining weight). I love it, I do but that's not me and it probably never will be. My hubby and I are hovering about middle class with a modest home in a small town (pop. is about 10k) The bars close at midnight and zebra stripes and rhinestones are what the really fashionable girls wear.
I have to drive 45mins to get my eyebrows threaded (will never wax again!) and also to see my hairstylist.
   After 5 yrs of being here I've learned to love some aspects of my new life but sometimes it really gets me down. Having a lunch date used to consist of throwing on sky high platforms to meet the girls for a glass of wine at a new trendy place downtown. Now its more liking grabbing your old flip flops for the lunch special at Chilis. I'm lucky enough to have some vintage Chanel hanging in my closet but I don't see a Birkin anywhere in my future. I want some glamour, some glitz. I want to get dressed up for cocktails with the girls even if it is only to go to the hole in the wall bar down the street......

I want this blog to reflect that. Some of us can't make it to the latest gallery opening but still want some sparkle in their lives. Basically the blog is going to be about finding high fashion on a budget, furnishing a home with thrift store finds, figuring out this whole wife thing in a small town and other things that I can't think of at this moment. You can still check me out on Facebook to stay updated on the newest items in my ebay store and also see random pictures of my life on instagram....I'm under nsvintage cause my name was too damn long.

I'll be back soon and hopefully the blog won't be as sucky next go around.

Gone

  As some people may have noticed I haven't been on here in quite some time. I have had so much heartache and drama in the past month that all I wanted to do was sleep. which led to something interesting...but that's later.

 A few weeks back I found out that a someone very close to me was struggling with a horrible drug addiction, i.e shooting up meth. That was bad. Then a week later an old friend whom I hadn't spoke with in a number of years overdosed in her jail cell and died after being arrested. To make matters worse her boyfriend who she had a 4yr old with committed suicide the next day. This left their child and her other 2 children without a mother. although these situations were slightly removed from me, they broke my heart. The world just seemed so ugly and I was just numb. Although it still saddens my heart, I am much improved and feel somewhat renewed. I have a habit of mothering my friends, trying to take care of their problems. There was and is nothing that I could have done to prevent this but I received some hope after finding out that the person struggling with addiction managed to get sober and has been for almost 3 months. It will be a long hard road ahead but it's a start.

Now off the sad stuff.......

I sleep a lot. Like a whole lot. Like 15hrs a day at my last count.

My therapist has been suggesting getting a sleep study done to see how much of my depression is tied to my horrible sleep patterns. I had been putting it off for awhile but finally went in to see a doctor about. After speaking with my doctor he came to the conclusion that I may actually have narcolepsy. I wish I would've had a camera because I burst out laughing. All I could picture was that chick from Deuce Bigalow with her hair tied back so she wouldn't drown in her soup.

I have my sleep study scheduled for this week so it should be interesting. I have to stay over night and also the following day. Sounds like fun.


I will be trying to list some things this week as I need to get back into the groove. And I'm broke as shit so that's a big motivator. Speaking of being broke......

 My tattoo was done by Bill Barrett at Royal 1 Tattoos and I couldn't be happier. Just got it done Friday so it's still really new.

My favorite piece has to be this Miu Miu bag I scored for $80 on ebay. It's an older bag but it is so on trend for A/W 2012 It's a velvet brocade with a lucite handle. I'll try to get some pictures up of my latest purchases and some more goodies for you. I've kinda been  a little outta control on the shopping lately.........it was all on sale though so that makes it alright. xoxox

I stalked this dress for awhile, convincing myself that when I lost weight this would be my going out dress. The losing weight is attainable but the growing of large balls needed to pull off such a dress is not. I really hope it goes to a good home because it is beyond awesome. Lazy Monday

 Hope everyone had a great weekend, I sure did! Picked up some more CHANEL goodies for the shop, cut my hair again and added some new piercings that my mother is sure to *love. I dyed my hair jet black a few months back and of course now want to add some blonde to it. Also stopped by Royal 1 Tattoos in Fort Worth to have my monroe (lip)  re-pierced  but ended up getting a smiley too! (see below). I have been going back and forth about getting more piercings as I feel like maybe it's only for young fabulous girls and not near 30 ladies.
